A festive day in York.

Hello and happy Saturday. Welcome to Blogmas day 2. It has been a cold one today. Has anyone else in the UK been really loving the extreme cold weather we have been having at the minute? I will go as far as saying I think it is my favourite kind of weather. Cold and crisp with bright blue skies. Absolute perfection.

Today, Saturday the 2nd of December has been in the calendar as family York Christmas Market day for a good few weeks now.  A day we have been very much looking forward to.  But oh my it was very busy. I thought I would share what we got up to with you and have a little recap.

Today for me has been a day full of being constantly out of my comfort zone and I don't mind admitting that I feel quite tired tonight but very proud of myself for putting myself through today and not letting my crippling anxieties beat me. I will share more on how I dealt with everything in a few posts time. But just for now here is how today went.

We started off our morning in Leeds train station, a place full of all of the hustle and bustle any day of the week but the sea of people coming into the city this morning was pretty impressive.  Once we got our tickets and raced across to our platform we got on our train and away we went.

COFFEE AND CAKE

Our first stop was Bishopthorpe Road, we went to “2 many wines, wine bar” we had oat milk cappuccinos and warm cinnamon swirls.  Such a great start to our day.

We carried on our strolls taking in the gorgeous frosted scenery. The city really did look extremely magical and christmassy today. Couldn’t have wished for better weather.

Love you mum and dad…

A QUICK BIT TO EAT

After many more steps, frozen cheeks and trying to escape the crowds we made a pit stop to this little place called “the hairy fig” or as dad coined it “the hairy pig” we shared various different veggie pasties and it sure did put a pep in our step for the next chunk of our afternoon.

MULLED WINE

Next stop on the festive whistle stop tour of York we stumble into “SOPHiE” a small cafe located on the Lendal Bridge. Their colourful sign drew us in through the condensation filled windows. Now this was my first proper taste of mulled wine and it was delicious. Warming, spiced, sweet and like a very large cosy hug in a pink take away cup. Would defo recommend.

COMPUSLORY CHURROS

Once we had taken in all the sights and made our purchases we made one last stop to the Churros stand before the train home and as you can see they were pretty yummy.

We are now back home from our lovely family day out feeling very warm and cosy and ready for a good nights sleep.

Thank you for coming to spend a few minutes with me. I hope you have had a lovely day.

I will see you back here tomorrow for Blogmas day 3. Have a nice day!❤️
